Remember last week’s shaggy cap? I brought a few home and took pictures as they dissolved, because I love my writing partner.
This is at about hour 20, on the dining-room table. The steady 65F temperature was the reason it went hydroscopic so soon, we think–the one on the deck outside dissolved much more slowly (but was pretty much slime at hour 40). The one in the north-side yard stayed fresher for much longer than its fellows. The stems held out longest; it was the caps that turned into inky goo. I’m wondering about actually making ink from these fellows, it would be great, as the Selkie said, for sumi-e.
SCIENCE. And shroooooms.
