Resisting Temptation

come n say 'hello' to my new friend It’s Wednesday, which means a new chapter of Selene is up. Long chapter is long! I have to resist the urge to cram more in, because Selene’s world is also Dante Valentine’s, but Selene grew up in the camps after the War. So historical things Danny refers to are fresh and raw for Selene.

Anyway. I’m in the wilds of revising, so the crankiness factor is getting pretty huge around here. However, I have a jar of chocolate-covered caramels with macadamia nuts, and that soothes the sting somewhat.

Apropos of nothing, I am reminded again of the few pieces of advice I wish I could tattoo on every aspiring penmonkey. Chief among them is do not comment upon reviews, for on that path lies danger. Just don’t do it, positive or negative. It can devolve so, so quickly.

Last but not least, the SquirrelTerror Indiegogo has four days left. We made our goal and then some, and the release of the ebook edition draws nigh. The excitement is barely bearable, I can’t wait to see what you guys think of it. As soon as the Indiegogo is over, I’ll be able to finalize the paper edition. I am tempted to release it early, but I have to stick to the schedule. Grrrr.

I did have a post planned with the advent of a ghost in our merry house, but it will have to wait until I have the energy to corral and contain it. Soon.

That’s it, I think. I’m about to retreat into the cave and wrangle the wild butterflies of revision.

Over and out.

The best comment regarding reviews comes, not surprisingly, from Neil Gaiman, who said, “If I think anything about bad reviews I think that maybe they’ll like the next book, or maybe they won’t, and then I get on with whatever I’m doing. It takes less energy.”

How this man manages to keep his head on so straight is beyond me.

Selene is fabulous. This chapter was a cliffhanger! I will busy myself with tasks and maybe the week will fly by…..
