Bravo, Lili. “No Choice” is excellent advice, for for the writing life and the ongoing battle with weight that many of us fight. I’m going to pick up that book, too.

I literally squealed with joy that you made the Labyrinth reference because that was the first thing that came to mind when I read that paragraph. When I find myself chanting Sarah’s mantra, I always think of that scene. Besides helping to put things in perspective, there’s the added bonus of David Bowie in that glorious Jareth jacket.

Thanks for sharing your struggles with us. You are, as ever, an inspiration for self-actualization.

I still wonder about people who have to force themselves to write. I would have to force myself NOT to.

Of course, I’m sure there are people who would say the same thing about exercise and I’m certainly not one of them.
