You may want to check the ‘orientation’ of your toe in relation to the others. You may have fractured it — I speak from experience.

I was 13 (?) running from one room in the basement to the other and misjudged how close my foot was to our MASSIVE freezer (6′Lx3.5′Hx4′w) and just my pinky toe crashed into it. Hurt like heck – but I didn’t think much of it.

Years later when I had my foot x-rayed for a different problem — the doctor asked me “So when did you break your toe?” I didn’t even notice that it was – ahem – ‘rotated’ slightly inward/toward the next toe.

So if your toe isn’t healed yet — you may want to make sure all your little piggies are in a row.

No, he didn’t say why he’d put it there. He has a habit of boobytrapping things, though. I am just going to let it rest–he feels bad enough. He keeps trying to pat my toe to make it feel better.

Out of curiosity, did he say why he’d put it there?

I’ve broken toes a bunch of times (3 on the left foot, 2 on the right). Except for my “index” toe on my left foot, which came of one of my cats accidentally getting into the bathroom linen closet and then knocking a full bottle of shampoo down from the top shelf to fall on my foot when I opened the door to let him out, the others have all been broken during Tae Kwon Do class.

OWWW! I once broke a toe because I was trying to kick one of the dog’s toys out of my way and instead I kicked the bedroom door frame. I should have just stepped on the squeaky ball!
