Please Support Judy Blume

Earlier this week an email announcement Judy Blume (yes, THAT Judy Blume, the author of Are You There, God? It’s Me, Margaret and other classics) wrote for Planned Parenthood went out, and various jerkwads who don’t like PP saving lives and educating people have been sending her nasty mail, up to and including death threats. California NOW has a section where you can express your support for Ms. Blume. She’s always been a class act, and if you possibly can, please take a moment to send her a message of support.

    That’s a horrible thing, that in a country founded on principles that include free speech we receive death threats for having an opinion. Thanks for giving us a heads up on Ms. Blume.

    I won’t even get started on the “freedom of speech” or freedom of any kind because I’ll end up ranting and soap-boxing. Suffice to say, freedom is an illusion created to keep us folks happy and content, i.e., Homeland Security is watching out for the terrorists so you don’t have to worry.

    I left a message for Ms. Blume — How bout that Miss California thing? Wow, a beauty pagent winner endorsing Marriage for the National Organization for Marriage (NOW) == That sure is a ringing endorsement on its own. Hey, I believe in equal opportunity for misery all around — everyone should be able to get married. :-)
