Author Video!
So, you remember a while back I was moaning and obsessing over being on camera? Well…that was because Penguin hired a videographer (the inimitable Dicky Dahl, who was very nice) and induced me to talk about Strange Angels.
I’m not so keen on being on-camera, mostly because I am a huge nervous butterball. Still, it’s fascinating to watch how all the footage we shot got condensed and–what’s that you say? Shut up and link to it, Lili?
Your wish is my command. If the embedded player doesn’t work, click here. Enjoy! (The bookstore is Cover to Cover Books in Vancouver, WA, and the vulture’s name is Clara.)
And Lord, if this video isn’t a further motivation for me to keep working out, nothing is…

Oh Lilith! You are beautiful! You look like a real woman. Work out because it makes you healthy, not because it will make you look like a supermodel!! Brains and beauty–you have it all!

HA, I saw Clara the War Room Vulture over your shoulder in that vid!
That was kewl. The Vortex never looked so good. Good thing I ran the vacuum that morning, eh?

Great video! Can’t wait to read Strange Angels. I’m an adult but young adult literature is sooooo good, I find my self reading it a lot. Love your Dante Valentine series too!

Oh, Lili, you are cute as a button and I am so glad to finally, FINALLY, have a face to the name! And a voice, too. And what you said was so good. I loved this video, and loved seeing the Vortex, too. Thanks for having the link for people like me who can’t see embeds for some freakin’ reason.

I can’t imagine how excited you are! It’s wonderful to put a lovely and very animated face to a name when it comes to an author that constantly surprises me. I don’t think I’ll ever have the ability with language that you and a lot of the other Dames have, however, I’m very happy to read about the process from you. I can’t wait for SA to come out and look forward to the next installment on your blog every day. Congratulations and keep up all the hard work, it’s definitely appreciated!!

Awesome video. *grins*
) You looked good though and good luck with the continued motivation. (mine ran off and hid on me)
I can totally sympathize. I hate being on camera and on film. (yet my husband loves taking pictures of me

I truly loved that video! I really loved the message you were sending out – about the “good vampires” when there are none – especially at the end when you remind viewers that they have stories to tell. That really rang true with me and it did speak to me. It’s wonderful to hear it coming from an author I respect!

The video was awesome! As someone said it’s nice to put a face/voice to words. As a side note I LOVE the earrings you were wearing in the video.

I smiled with fellow feeling hen you talked about libraries and bookstores being your safe place. I completely agree about the smell of a bookstore, especially an old one, with lots of books with raggedy leather covers from authors who died fifty years ago. I love poking through those kinds of places.
BTW, What was that lovely building behind you when you were sitting on the steps?

Great vid, Lili!!
I’m camera-shy myself, so I can imagine how hard making a video must be. *shudder at the thought* The result was awesome though!
