You Were Expecting Maybe OMfrey Bogart?
I have laughed myself into hyena fits lately transposing Emeril into a Bugs Bunny cartoon–French Rarebit.
Today marks the anniversary of a terrifying, wonderful day in my life. True to form, I had trouble sleeping last night. This morning I feel pretty sanguine, though. It’s a nice change. I’ll take the occasional sleepless night.
ANYWAY. Dear Internets, I am turning to you for help. I’m wanting a good calendar program so I can glance at my upcoming deadlines–keeping them in my head is still working, but I suspect not for long. I’m using Google Calendar at the moment, but I’m kind of not happy with the standard views–I want to be able to highlight projects and look at a few months at a time. (I don’t think a paper calendar is a good idea for me–I tend to use them for about a month and then forget them.) So far the “agenda” setting in Google Calendar is okay, but it’s not rocking my socks off or anything. Any suggestions/thoughts?
All right. I’ve got a call to prep for and various errands to run before I can go back to revising. I know what needs to go into the book and am turning the scene over in my head, looking for threads and weak spots. It’s funny to see a story as a multidimensional puzzle–you know the pieces fit in, but orienting them is a bitch.
Over and out.

Call me crazy if you aren’t a fan of Microsoft products but to me (Standard – not Express) Outlook has the functionality I think you’re looking for in Office 2007. I have appointments and tasks that are in my face every time I look at email. I can color code my appointments and tasks and also set reminders that pop up as short as 15 minutes before or as far out as 2 weeks before they are due.
If you’re one of those people that like to play with sounds you can also set it so that it will make a different sound for incoming mail or your reminders, I’m fine with the defaults.
I can see my inbox and two months of calendar view with a week’s worth of appointments and my tasks. Calendar dates with appointments are bold. When switching to a calendar view you have the option to see day, week or month.
It’s great for letting my family know about family events in advance. I put them on my calendar and then ‘invite’ them to attend. If the college student is busy and can’t come, he can’t complain that he didn’t know about it because he had to decline or accept the notice. Not reading your email doesn’t count. ;^)
I do admit I’m slightly prejudiced because I got to play with it back when it was in beta when I worked for that big chip factory across town, so a long time user. Even people who work in an office environment often don’t learn how to use this program to its best advantage.

I once had to do Project Management to help open a SemiConductor Fab. The Main contractor used this..

I think that might be more what you are looking for instead of a nomal calander.
I myself use it for tracking several major projects that I am involved in all the same time. Unfortunately, open office does not have a Project Management program at this time.
Here is a link to free Project Management programs, but having never used them, I can’t vouch for them. http://www.softwareprojects.org/free-project-management-software.htm
Here is a link to Microsoft planners pages as well.
