Book Pimpage, And Other Picture Postcards

So…let’s roll out the book pimpage!

My buddy Richelle Mead has a new book–Storm Born, out! Here’s the blurb:

Eugenie Markham is a powerful shaman who does a brisk trade banishing spirits and fey who cross into the mortal world. Mercenary, yes, but a girl’s got to eat. Her most recent case, however, is enough to ruin her appetite. Hired to find a teenager who has been taken to the Otherworld, Eugenie comes face to face with a startling prophecy–one that uncovers dark secrets about her past and claims that Eugenie’s first-born will threaten the future of the world as she knows it.

Now Eugenie is a hot target for every ambitious demon and Otherworldy ne’er-do-well, and the ones who don’t want to knock her up want her dead. Eugenie handles a Glock as smoothly as she wields a wand, but she needs some formidable allies for a job like this. She finds them in Dorian, a seductive fairy king with a taste for bondage, and Kiyo, a gorgeous shape-shifter who redefines animal attraction. But with enemies growing bolder and time running out, Eugenie realizes that the greatest danger is yet to come, and it lies in the dark powers that are stirring to life within her…

Sounds cool, eh? And speaking of new books, Kat Richardson’s newest, Underground, is out. You can read an excerpt of it here.

Pretty cool, eh? I love book pimpage with the fiery love of a thousand suns.

In the “cool linkage” category:

* There’s a Murder by 4 post titled “You Might Be A Writer” that is totally hilarious, and I found myself alternately snorting with laughter and saying, hey, I’ve done that! Not funny! before realizing that yes, it IS funny even when it’s me.

* Sometimes Kate Beaton hits it out of the park. I can’t link to her current strip about Napoleon, (since she doesn’t have them individually entered) but suffice to say I laughed my wee buns off.

* Have I mentioned how much I love LOLCats? Especially when a Bette Davis film reference gets smooshed together with a cute kitteh and a straw? Now you know.

* Thrifthorror is love.

* I am strangely fascinated with the IRIS Seismic Monitor. Now if I can just find a decent realtime global lightning-strike site–no, it’s not asking too much. It really isn’t.

That is all. Oh, except I am not quite feeling the urge to scream at my laptop anymore. I have declared the next two weeks an online-review-free zone.

No, really. That is all. Peace out.
