Farewell, And Godspeed
Madeleine L’Engle, the author of some of my favorite books–like A Wind In The Door and Many Waters–has passed away.
I remember her books for their pellucid prose and for the fact that they didn’t “talk down” to me as a young reader. Reading L’Engle’s books was like having a deep conversation with an adult who respected you, always a novel and enchanting experience for a young person.
May she find that far green land. May she be accorded a place of high honor for her life’s work and her joy in sharing with children. May she also be remembered fondly for as long as ink touches paper.
