The Awesomeness, It Burns!
Yesterday was pretty much awesome all around. I got a lot of work done in the front half of the day and had time to settle down and start Glenn Greenwald’s new book (A Tragic Legacy: How a Good vs. Evil Mentality Destroyed the Bush Presidency, well worth the cost! Seriously, pick it up in hardback. Review coming soon.) before it was time to go.
We went to Meljean Brook’s signing in Beaverton, for her new book Demon Moon. (I bought the first in the series, Demon Angel, and am looking forward to reviewing it soon.)
After the signing we all went out for tater tots–Mick and her lovely spouse and child, the Martian Mooncrab and Evil Sister, the Selkie, the Sullen One, Candy from Smart Bitches, and fiveandfour (Hi, kiddo!) from LJ. I think Mick might have been surprised by how quickly Candy and I get outrageous–we’re like hydrogen and flame, baby–but then again, she’s seen us before. The tots were fantastic, dinner was great, and when I got home I was so tired. I barely had the energy to peel my out-in-public clothes off and get sweats on before I decided it was Time For Bed.
Any day I get to hang out with such wonderful peeps and go to such a fabulous author’s signing is a fine day. BTW, I highly recommend Meljean’s books–I had to be physically restrained from opening up Demon Angel and reading it all through the signing, and it was locked in the car through dinner. But I kept thinking about it.
Besides, we’re thinking of doing a celebrity deathmatch between her character Lilith and my Dante Valentine. I happen to think those two ladies would end up going out for beer and finish by taking over the world, actually. But that’s just me.
