Snape, Snape, Severus Snape
Pottermania strikes again.
Thanks to Reader Liz, who inflictedshowed this to me. Now I’m going to go around humming Voldemort, Voldemort to the tune of Lollipop. Heh.
It’s been a hundred degrees here for the past couple of days, which means I am engaged in a struggle to keep the house cool. For this we have two air-conditioning units, a fan, and me zealously turning off lights and keeping doors closed in most of the house so the main part stays livable. And of course, suffering whenever I step outside. I’m peculiarly sensitive to weather like this, especially when it turns humid. It makes me cranky. Especially after I went to the Y yesterday and sweated buckets on the way there and back. I thought you were supposed to sweat more while working out, not while trying to drive to the elliptical machine.
Of course, I could call it the sauna treatment and pay someone for it. And the sweatbath the past few days has done wonders for the skin. It really does get rid of impurities.
The Little Prince and Princess are, of course, ecstatic. Especially when I drag the sprinkler out and let them run through it. The Sullen One feels the same way I do about the heat. It’s hard to dress goth when it’s a hundred degrees in the shade. Though neither of us are “goth” the principle still applies, since we both tend to wear dark colors and silver jewelry. Thank the gods he’s tall and lean and I’m short and round, or he’d be wearing my clothes. I love the kid, but that would just be Too Far.
I am finding myself somewhat at a loss to come up with appendix materials for the fifth Valentine book. The best I’ve got is an essay on Japhrimel and Dante’s world, and the influences for both. I am trying to come up with something creative, but it’s no use. If you’ve got something you want to know about, or a character you want to hear a little more about, why don’t you email me, and if I get a lot of requests for someone I’ll whip up something to go in the last appendix of the Valentine series.
I should probably do something about Lucas Villalobos. But I promise nothing, he’s a shifty little bugger.
I hear the Japh’s Wings Art Contest is going well. Hint, hint. Don’t worry if you don’t have any artistic ability. There are plenty more contests coming up.
Now I’ve got to close up the house and turn the air conditioning on. It’s going to be ninety instead of a hundred degrees today, which is all to the good. I think I might knock off at the Y and stay at home with some sherbet.
Mmmh. Orange sherbet, with chocolate chips. Diet’s first three letters are a warning, and don’t you forget it.
