Clean Rain
So it rained this morning about 8am. Lots of rain, pouring down and splashing and tapping and clearing that nasty mugginess out of the air. Last night at the track my clothes were wet–and not from sweat I assure you, just from the water in the air. Later, tripping down to the store for coffee-cream, it was difficult to breathe.
So the air is clean and sparkling. The foxglove in the front yard has bowed under the weight, and the long peony bloom I managed this year is perilously close. But everything else seems to be fine.
I knocked off fifteen hundred words on the new Kismet book yesterday. It’s nowhere near my regular word count, but it’s getting there.
I also got a peek at some new layouts for the website this morning. Very nice. The Sullen Teen says they actually make me look legit. *boggle* That’s a miracle, isn’t it?
And a special shout out this morning goes to my friend Nina Merrill, who just got the contract for her first print book this morning. The squeeage, it it intense. Go Nina!
I am in that in-between stage today, where the story is more real to me than the things going on in meatspace. It’s a sign I’m about ready to submerge.
Wish me luck…
