So Far This Morning I Have
* Arose and appeared to many before 7:30. AM. Yes, it’s true. No, nobody died.
* Cleaned myself in the shower and ran the espresso maker before 8AM. Again, no casualties. I even managed to dress myself. Properly. Or as proper as I ever am, which is not much.
* Dealt with morning traffic.
* dropped the Sullen One off to take the first half of his math WASL
* drove out to find the new Health Dept. building where one is supposed to get one’s food handler’s permit.
* found the VA
* found said Health Dept. building by guessing
* dealt with people coming to take the food handler’s permit test who apparently did not understand the concept of WAITING. IN. LINE. Hopefully now they do, since I explained it to them at least twice. Politely.
* got food handler’s card
* got to the bookstore
* greeted Smedley and the Selkie
* went to get a Guiseppe sandwich for lunch, for I perish of hunger
* fed little bits of prosciutto to the cat while the Selkie deals with two business types who are trying to sell her something. Thank Goodness I’m here.
Soon the DHM will be here with the kids, and the kids will stay with me and wait for Yon Sullen One to be finished with testing. This afternoon (if I ever get there) is set aside for finishing up proof pages, looking over some supplementary materials in PDF format, and finally hooking up with the Harper-Collins editor about the short story.
If, of course, I manage to get home without incident.
