Post From The Wild

I am reading Blood Meridian and it is both depressing (of course, it’s Cormac McCarthy) and strangely written (loads of run-ons Hemingway would be ashamed of) and I have absolutely no idea where it’s going next.

I need more coffee and my spectacles are spotted. I’m about to assay another run at the fifth Valentine book, moving low and fast to avoid the tracers. With the short story done and Steelflower out, it’s like my brain cycles have come back in a big way and are demanding to be spent on Valentine’s big crescendo.

Other than that…it’s Erasmus once I finish McCarthy, and Invitation to a Beheading again after that. I figure the Erasmus will transition nicely between depressing American West and Nabokov’s dream of liberation.

The fifth Valentine book? Uh… I thought they’re 2 with 1 coming up. Or did I miss something? *looks confused*
