DragonCon Musings
So tomorrow I’ll be devoting a whole day to packing for DragonCon. Today I have the last-minute revisions on Cloud Watcher to work on.
As for the Con, here’s the panels I know I’m scheduled for:
Friday Vampire: The Eternal Archetype - 4:00 pm
The legend of the vampire has haunted humanity’s psyche for millennia. This panel will trail down the nature of this elusive creature and the role it plays in fiction, folklore, and magickal reality.
Derek Ruthven (mod), Michelle Belanger, Elaine Bergstrom, Lilith Saintcrow, Steven Savile, Susan Sizemore
Saturday Post-Mortem: Ghosts in Fact, Ghosts in Fiction - 4:00 pm
Few supernatural creatures have as much resonance as ghosts, and the restless dead have inspired countless literary works. A cross section of authors and paranormal experts will discuss the facts vs. the fiction of ghosts.
Derek Ruthven (mod), Cherie Priest, Lilith Saintcrow, members of: TAPS/Ghost Hunters
Sunday Speak of the Devil! - 11:30 am
Demons and fallen angels are among the oldest characters in fantastic characters. This panel will show how modern authors are using the infernal host as the basis for engaging fiction.
Fred Grimm (mod), Scott Allie, Angelique Armae, L.A. Banks,Lilith Saintcrow, Marc Valhara
Monday In a Glass Darkly - 1:00 pm
The intrusion of the unnatural and the grotesque into the commonplace is a hallmark of gothic and horror fiction. Learn how writers utilize an unsettling atmosphere to create suspense and generate terror.
Marc Valhara (mod), Lawrence Barker, Chesya Burke, Elizabeth Donald, T.W. Miller, Lilith Saintcrow
I am veddy veddy excited, and can barely wait. I am a little tetchy when I think about the airport hassles, but it seems a small price to pay for the wonder of a convention. *grin*
