Frequently Asked Questions

Is that your real name?

Yes. It is not a nom de plume or de guerre. I also have several authorial pseudonyms, some open, some closed.

Why are you such a terrible writer?

My books are not for everyone. Feel free to write your own. In fact, I encourage you to do so.

Where is a list of your books in order?

I have (at last count) 70+ books in print; I suggest starting with the Books page. However, they are not listed “in order” because I work in several widely different genres, often concurrently. Individual series are listed in order on their respective pages, but there’s really no way to read them “in order”, it all depends on what genre you like to read.

Who do I contact about foreign, audio, or movie rights?

Queries about foreign rights, audio rights, or other similar matters should be directed to the Knight Agency.

Do you use any LLM/”AI” in your work?

No. I do not and will not ever use any LLM/”AI” in any stage of my work or creative process. My books are 100% human-created and I take any and all reasonable steps to make sure the cover art is too.

The Bannon & Clare Affairs

Are there any more Bannon & Clare books?

Unfortunately, no, because of e-piracy. You might like Hell’s Acre, though!

Selene

Where did Selene go?

Selene has been resurrected!

Where is SquirrelTerror?

The original SquirrelTerror stories are now available in book form! The adventures of my current backyard denizens can be found under the SquirrelTerror tag on my blog.

Is there a sixth Strange Angels book?

No, there is not. The series ended as it had to. I may write a follow-up series, but currently, there are no plans for such.

Steelflower

Will there ever be another Steelflower book?

Yes! Right now the fourth (most likely final) Chronicle, The Highlands War, is being written as a serial for Patreon and Gumroad subscribers. It will be published afterward…but that’ll be a while.

What’ s Friday Night Writes?

Friday Night Writes is a side benefit of some Patreon tiers. The time and duration of the write-ins is not negotiable.

I sent you an email or Tweet or message or package and you didn’t respond!

I am very sorry I can’t respond to everything my very dear Readers send. My contact page explains why.

Will you read my story or play or novel or poem?

Unfortunately, time and legal considerations mean I can’t read your fanfic. I used to offer cover copy, ebook formatting, and editing services; I do not anymore except for former (good) clients.

Can you send me a print (or electronic) book for review?

I’m afraid I cannot. The time involved, not to mention postage, makes it impossible for me to do so, especially with the number of requests I receive. Where applicable, if you would like a review copy of a particular book, please contact the publisher.

Glocks don’t have hammers! Also, cordite!

Several of you have caught that Glocks don’t have hammers. I thought that in a world with Weres, scurf, and hellbreed, a slightly (or hugely) altered gun design wouldn’t be the hardest thing for the Reader to accept. I thought other problems were bigger. I was wrong, thanks. I wanted a hammer for dramatic effect, Jill wanted a Glock because she likes them. I struck a bargain.

I’m only glad it wasn’t with Perry.

As for cordite: Gunfire has, to me, a peculiar and acrid scent; “cordite” is an easy way for me to express that to general readership even though it’s not used as a propellant anymore. When I say it, the average person gets a sense of the scent I’m speaking of.

You made another error and I can’t rest until I tell you about it!

Check my Contact page. I read every missive sent, even though I can’t often respond.

No, really, I have to tell you how wrong you are!

See above.

Can you send me swag bookmarks/book flats/posters?

I do not have any swag or promotional items to give away.

Do you use affiliate links?

Yes, fair warning, sometimes I do.
